LOCAL PROGRAM HISTORY
The Oregon program began in 1951 as Salem Soap Box Derby and held its first local championship in 1952 at the Bush Park track. It says it was reincorporated as Oregon Soap Box Derby in 2025, with a Lexington local planned beginning in 2026 and street rallies continuing around Oregon, including at the historic Salem track.
